The inaugural Impact of Giving Gala, held at Marina Bay Sands in November 2017 has supported the creation of three additional UWCSEA scholarship opportunities, for August 2018
Organised by two co-chair parents and a committed team of 23 parent volunteers, 350 guests joined the fun-filled event for an evening of entertainment, auctions and dancing. UWCSEA Dover alumni Sonam Kapoor ‘03, Anita Kapoor ‘89 and Sean Ghazi ’87 also volunteered their time to help to host the event and provide entertainment. S$366,000 was raised in support of UWCSEA on the night.
We are delighted to announce that the Gala will be supporting the following initiatives:
- The first, a 100% full needs-based scholarship has been created from the funds raised on the night.
- A second, full 100% needs-based scholarship has been created with funds from the night and the balance coming from the Annual Fund in equal proportion.
- A third, full 100% needs-based scholarship has been created from funds raised from the programme auction on the night, together with two separate gifts secured before the gala.
These three scholarship opportunities will enable the College to further achieve its mission of using education as a force to unite people from different backgrounds for a peaceful future.
Sustainability gifts: A total of 39 gifts have supported the installation of 13 solar panels and the planting of 26 indigenous trees that will be added to our campuses as part of our commitment towards environmental sustainability.
Teaching and Learning Opportunity: One gift was received in support of teaching and learning which will be applied to an area identified by the new strategic plan.
Thank you to all those that supported the Impact of Giving Gala – the night has created a wonderful legacy.
