Donor Celebration Event 2018

On Tuesday 20th of February, over 140 members from the UWCSEA donor community came together to celebrate the impact of giving to the College.

Held in the lush surroundings of Hort Park, the annual Donor Celebration event showcased a range of programmes that gifts have made possible such as Solar for DoverAdopt a Tree, the Rainforest Restoration Project and IDEAS Hub.  With over 70 students (including members of our scholar and boarding community) in attendance, the evening was a fantastic opportunity to engage with those currently living and learning the UWC values.

Incredible Edible

Gifts made to the UWCSEA Fund support a range of environmental activities for students from K1 to Grade12. In 2016, one such initiative was the creation of vegetable gardens.

The Edible Garden Project – now known by the students as ‘Incredible Edible’ – is a well-established College Service. This year, the UWCSEA Fund supported the role of a part-time supervisor to provide the necessary expertise and crucial logistical support in running the project. Gifts also funded the installation of an irrigation infrastructure and much-needed planting materials and tools.

A thoughtful gift continues to create sustainability and long lasting impact at UWCSEA

A generous gift by UWCSEA parents Andy and Mei Budden is driving the sustainability programme at the College forward, taking us one step closer to our goal in making environmental stewardship a significant part of every student’s education.
