UWC Refugee initiative

“In light of the dramatic escalation in the number of young displaced people fleeing conflict, persecution or environmental disaster, combined with the need for future post-conflict leadership, there is an urgent need to further increase the number of refugee students being granted access to a world-class school education at a UWC school or college.”

We are now witnessing the highest displacement on record. An unprecedented 65.6 million people around the world have been forced from their homes. *Among them are nearly 22.5 million refugees, over half of whom are under the age of 18.

Each year UWC aims to offer up to 100 of these young people a unique educational opportunity at one of its schools and colleges around the world.

Gifts from the UWCSEA community in 2016/2017 has already funded two transformational scholarship opportunities through the UWC Refugee Initiative. With your support, we can provide a beacon of hope to even more aspiring young refugees so that they too may achieve their dreams and create a better future for their countries.
